AI Governance Is Here.
Is Your Organisation Ready?

Understand ISO/IEC 42001 and what an Artificial Intelligence Management System means for your organisation.

As organisations increasingly use artificial intelligence across their
operations, having a structured approach to AI governance is
becoming an important consideration.

AS ISO/IEC 42001:2023 provides a framework for establishing,
implementing, maintaining and continually improving an Artificial
Intelligence Management System (AIMS).

Why ISO/IEC 42001?

A Structured Approach to AI Governance

ISO/IEC 42001 provides requirements for an Artificial Intelligence Management System and addresses areas including:

  • • AI governance and accountability
  • • Risk management
  • • Impact assessment
  • • Data considerations
  • • Human oversight
  • • Performance evaluation
  • • Continual improvement

For organisations using or developing AI systems, understanding these requirements can provide valuable context when considering their approach to AI governance.

Is ISO/IEC 42001 Relevant to Your Organisation?

Questions Worth Considering

Does your organisation:

  • • Use AI systems as part of its operations?
  • • Have multiple teams using AI tools or applications?
  • • Have defined responsibilities for AI governance?
  • • Consider risks and impacts associated with AI?
  • • Have processes for monitoring AI systems?
  • • Need to demonstrate conformity with recognised requirements?

If you’re considering these questions, ISO/IEC 42001 may be worth exploring.
