KEY CHALLENGES

As a relatively new business but with extensive industry experience, gaining a foothold in the market and establishing the business is a key challenge. In order to drive and expand the business, Engineering Construction Service had to identifying ways to make the organisation competitive and aligned to the relevant compliance and industry regulations. This combined with the management of relevant systems and forms is an ongoing challenge.

Time management can play a big part in the success of a small business so being able to address this in a practical and purposeful way has also been a key consideration.

CCF MANAGEMENT FRAMEWORK

Designed by the Australian Civil Contractors Federation (CCF), the civil construction management framework is based on international standards for quality (ISO 9001), safety (ISO 45001) and environmental management (ISO 14001).

Sustainable Certification

THE PROCESS

The processes in partnership with Sustainable Certification enabled the business to systematically work through a project from its infancy ensuring compliance was met with the requirements of the CCF. Furthermore, working through the relevant governance and record keeping requirements allowed for a full and comprehensive reviews and internal audit of the company.

Engineering Construction Service were able to do this with the close and full support of the auditor who provided a clear picture of each certification stage. The client cloud portal also gave insight into which steps were next allowing for a single view into the journey from start to finish.

RESULTS

Engineering Construction Service are now certified against the CCF framework. This has meant a compliance with the CCF codes and Australian standards to work efficiently, effectively and safely across the construction industry.

In turn the business is now better placed to tender for larger and more prestigious projects enabling the company to expand and increase profitability.

FUTURE PLANS &
INDUSTRY CHALLENGES

Government funding is becoming increasingly hard to find and less projects are being put out for tender. The increase in contractors vying for the work means an increase in overall competition for each project so developing a competitive edge is critical to future success.

The CCF accreditation and certification that Engineering Construction Service has achieved will enable the business to showcase that it is well placed to support projects across the region.

WHY SUSTAINABLE CERTIFICATION?

Sustainable Certification were known to Stephen from previous projects and working relationships. They came highly recommended from other similar organisations and were chosen due to their openness and focus on client progress.

A key reason was also the peace of mind that everything was on track. This was delivered through access to the client portal giving real time updates and snapshots on the status at each certification stage.

“Great company and auditor. Very helpful and understanding, enabled me to clearly identify what was needed to get the company certified and the process to achieve it”.
